Ready.Set.Bike
Creating better connectivity within/between neighbourhoods and the creation of a slow network through a sustainable mode of transportation. This enables placemaking that helps to integrate various activities in this area such as vending zones, public spaces, etc.
Need for the project
The need of the hour is to promote more green living and thus the project's main aim of connectivity through a sustainable mode of transportation really does help with this. Presently, there is a huge disconnect between areas and the project helps to bridge these gaps. Also through the project, the areas/points that have great potential are better tapped.
Objective of the project

- Promotion of sustainable mode of transportation

- Organised vending zones
- Formation of public spaces by the use of the under-utilised area
- Revitalising market areas
Project site details

Site selection criteria
1. First criteria: Site should be in close proximity to public transit hubs
2. Second criteria: Site should have multiple functions adjoining it, that can be integrated
3. Third criteria: Site should have good green cover
4. Fourth criteria: Site should have different user groups
5. Fifth criteria: Site should have multiple access points
6. Sixth criteria: Site should be around densely populated region
Site details

Area of the site - 330000 sqm
Main access roads are ITPL Main Road, ITPL extension, John F. Welch road, Naga Lingeshwara road, Kundalahalli lake road
Key features are Kundalahalli lake, IT parks to the north of the lake and residential areas to the south. One of the entries to the site is opposite Brookefield Mall, a lane adjoining the bus stop. The site extends to the ITPL Bus Depot located to the North-East.
