Project idea
The intervention focuses on redeveloping the existing parks and streets in the neighbourhood to ensure that they are pedestrian friendly, interactive and child-friendly and in the case of parks, more vibrant and welcoming.
Need for the project
The existing neighborhoods in the ward do not have enough parks and recreational spaces that are safe and accessible for children. The existing spaces are not well maintained and are not children friendly, The road networks connecting parks and playgrounds to residential spaces, public spaces and schools are not safe and children friendly either.
Objective of the project
Redesigning the existing parks and streets in the neighborhood to provide easier accessibility, safer environment, good pedestrian connectivity and encouraging a more social nature to the public spaces, which will lead to children using these spaces more.
Project site details

Site selection criteria
1. First criteria: Site should have commercial, residential and institutional which are easily accessible from the parks and playgrounds
2. Second criteria: Site should have existing parks and playgrounds
3. Third criteria: Site should be easily accessible from the main roads
4. Fourth criteria: Site should have streets which can be made strictly pedestrian
5. Fifth criteria: Site should have parks and playgrounds which can be connected

Area of the site - 6800 sqm
Main access roads are ITPL main road and HAL old airport road
