Interactive Walkways

Updated: Jun 27, 2020

Mukta P Naidu | Interactive walkways can create a huge impact on the character of the street by including vendor spaces, pause points under green spaces.

Project description

Project idea

What happens when your car breaks down in a city like Bangalore? Most people would take a cab. Why is walking not an option? idea is to promote pedestrian use as well as designated zones for the vendors in such a way that it is a win-win situation for both.

Need for the project

The increase in the IT parks in this area makes it a congestion zone. By introducing a walkway, it not only decreases the need to take out your car but it also promotes walking and provides a recreational space to the residents around. Due to the lack of connectivity from the interior areas to the main road, people are forced to take out their cars contributing to the congestion making the surrounding spaces dark and dingy for a pedestrian.

Objective of the project

This could increase the interaction with the other residents of the same locality, it could cater to the needs of these residents by including vendor zones or could just provide as a walkway to reach the nearby bus stops/supermarkets/market spaces.
