Neha Jaiprakash | Rejuvenation of lakes (Kundallahali, Munnekolala and Chinnappanahalli) and connecting them to communal gathering spaces using bicycle lanes.
Project description
Project idea
The 3 different lakes have been intervened very differently and connected either using bicycle lanes or pedestrian pathways which in turn is connected through a communal gathering space (Ashwath Katte). The vendors have also been given a vendor friendly path close to the Igate.
Need for the project
The 3 lakes I have chosen in the ward are in need for rejuvenation and proper accessibility by the stakeholders, the Ashwath Katte has lost its importance and my idea is to bring back the essence of this place by making into a communal gathering space. The roads connecting the 3 lakes are also not under proper maintenance and are made into pedestrian-friendly and bicycle-friendly lanes.
Objective of the project
1. Rejuvenation of lakes with proper lake edge development.
2. Connectivity of roads making it pedestrian and bicycle-friendly.
3. Bringing out the essence of Ashwath Katte.
4. Providing vendor friendly zones.
