Urban Park and Lake Edge Treatment

Prerana Pradeep | The aim is to develop a park that interacts with the lake and has various recreational activities for the residents and the IT sector.



Project description


Project idea


The idea is to bring together the local community and the IT sector by creating a space that interacts with the lake and provides a designated area for vendors and to creating a safe space around the lake.


Need for the project


Most of the lakes in this ward are unused due to pollution in lakes, black spots, and poor maintenance. The number of recreational spaces in the ward is not sufficient and is not maintained properly. Hawkers do not have a designated space.


Objective of the project


To create a space that can be used by the local residents, people in the IT sector and the lower-income households. To organize hawkers on footpaths in the surrounding area into one zone. To create a pleasant environment along the lake. To develop a park with various activities.

Site selection criteria


1. First criteria : Proximity to the lake, residential areas and IT sector.


2. Second criteria : Proximity to the main roads and public transport.


3. Third criteria : Next to an unpolluted lake.


4. Fourth criteria : An area that is used or was used for recreational activities.

  • Main access roads are - John F Welch road

  • Key features are - This is located in between the IT sector, residential areas and lake. The lake is only used as a transition zone even though it is the least polluted lake in the ward. The site is located between it sector, residential areas and Kundalahalli lake. It's close to main roads
