Arun Mozhi Varman N A | The need to tackle the ever-growing population and the present and near future food crisis people are facing and bring back the lost connection with nature in the urban environment is paramount.
Project description
Project idea
The idea is to create farms that produce a high level of yields with minimal resources, Addressing the need for nutritious and fresh food for the people in the ward. Using treated sewage water and renewable energy resources are two main methods to make the project self-sustainable.
Need for the project
Currently, the ward consists of many health-conscious citizens and youth living in congested environments with high rise buildings around, with the food intake demand exceeding the food being produced and produce taking 2-3 days to reach the consumer. Opportunities such as garbage disposal reduction with food waste being used as agricultural manure and reducing food wastage during transportation by reducing transport distances along with charges with food products being available locally can be achieved.
Objective of the project
To provide a healthier life for citizens with a comfortable community space for them to visit with more green routes and green shades. To bring awareness to the public about agriculture and reduce garbage and transportation distances. Provide employment opportunities and holistically a better future.
