Project idea
1. The increasing pace of urbanisation has left cities with few places for recreation. Developed lakefront provides new recreation space, creates awareness about the lake.
2. Addition of mini-park, more green covers and seatings along the pathway along with interesting signages leading to the lake along the main roads.
Need for the project
Doddanekundi lake being the largest lake in the ward is not used by the majority of the people and is mostly cut off from the neighbourhood lake. The waterfront would attract a growing number of morning walkers and after-work runners. Also, public access sites connected by linear greenways will tie developments together, eliminating barriers, both real and imagined the lakefront with the life of the city.
Objective of the project
Doddanekundi lake being the largest lake in the ward is not used by majority of the people and is mostly cut off from the neighbourhood .
Reconnecting the lake with the city by making it a recreational space for all age groups.
Making the lake more interactive and user friendly for the public.

Site selection criteria
1. First criteria: The Largest lake in the ward with religious significance.
2. Second criteria: Presence of the varied fauna.
3. Third criteria: Present right in the middle of the neighbourhood used by people for the temple along the pathway hence developing this place could lead it to become an important landmark used regularly.

Area of the site - 350 sqm
Main access roads are Doddanekundi main road
Key features are the presence of the temple along the pathway. Surrounded by residences all around. One of the entry points is through a park. Presence of sports complex right next to the lake. Presence of Tech parks in the neighbourhood.
