Tirthika Shah | Integration of the railway line with a natural water harvesting and supply system.
Project Description
Project idea
Inter-city railway corridors tend to form physical as well as social borders within a city. Water scarcity is another issue prevalent in the ward. The aim of the water (t)rail is to tackle these issues simultaneously.
Need for the project
The buffer zone along the railway corridor is badly maintained, making it difficult for both vehicles as well as pedestrians to move across the line. Water scarcity also continues to be a massive issue within the ward. It is essential to use every inch of space and water available to improve the ever-growing ward of Doddanekundi.
Objective of the project
1. A solution to water supply problems
2. Create awareness about the water supply issues
3. Create awareness about natural water supply methods
4. Improving the roads around the railway line 5. Improving the pedestrian experience around the railway line
